edited-26%20(1)_edited.jpg

Education:

The University of Texas at Austin (B.A. in Plan II Honors, B.A. in Health & Society, and a minor in McCombs Business Foundations)

Counseling Experience:

Catherine’s experience with the college (and graduate school) admissions process has taught her valuable insights that she looks forward to sharing with other students. After meeting with many counselors in high school and college, Catherine has acquired knowledge about how students can and should market themselves to their desired academic program.

Counseling Philosophy:

"The Google calendars of many high school students display time blocks devoted to attending class, studying for exams, practicing a sport, practicing an instrument, volunteering, and more. Yet, these students have little time to reflect on their activities or to consider their future goals. I see counseling as a wonderful, illuminating space where students get to do just that. Counseling should give students the precious time to think about who they are, what they want, and how they can reach their academic and personal goals."

Teaching Experience:

In high school, Catherine served as a teaching assistant for AP Chemistry and as a math tutor. At UT Austin, she worked on the Panhellenic Executive board as the Vice President of Recruitment. In this role, Catherine worked with recruitment captains for over a year to teach them the rules of recruitment.

Educational Philosophy:
"I strongly believe in the power of a growth mindset--that is, students may develop their talents through hard work and perseverance. Any student may excel through diligent practice."

Interesting Fact:

Catherine has lived in Lyon, France, where she stayed with a host family and attended classes on the French language and culture.
