Counseling Experience:
Ali thoroughly enjoyed her own process of college admissions, and her Common Application essay titled "How My Cow Taught Me the Definition of Feminism" was published in the New York Times. Since then, she has consistently edited essays for friends applying to graduate schools and aided them in the process of selecting their best fit.
Educational and Counseling Philosophy:
"I believe that education must begin with empathy. I would like to make an attempt to get to know each of my students as individuals in order to best tailor a plan to their particular interests and goals. It is only through meaningful relationships built on understanding that we can work together to achieve our greater purposes."
Interesting Fact:
Ali grew up on a dairy farm in rural Illinois and spent the summer of the pandemic raising bottle calves.
