Counseling Experience:

 Glenda is in her fourth year as a certified school counselor. Glenda currently oversees a caseload of students who are not only pursuing their Advanced High School Diploma while pursuing their Associate's Degree. Glenda has applied through three application processes, and is also a Gates Millenium Scholar.

Counseling Philosophy:

 “As a counselor, my commitment lies in providing and fostering a safe space for students to explore and challenge themselves. Every student has a unique student experience and story to share and acknowledge. My role is to empower and guide students to reach their potential.”

Teaching Experience: 

 Glenda has worked with students in various capacities, such as school counselor, tutor, mentor, instructor, or college coach. Glenda has topic classes on Lego Robotics, Personal Development, English, and Spanish. She enjoys teaching students social-emotional learning and coping skills.

 

Teaching Philosophy: 

“Learning is a lifelong journey. Learning results best from a strong relationship where both the teacher and student learn from one another and together. Success comes from promoting a strength-based safe space for students to learn, “fail,” and be challenged. Every student has untapped potential. Find your passion and let that source of curiosity lead your mind."

Interesting Fact: 

 Glenda is a first-generation college student who was born in El Salvador. Glenda enjoys traveling, and her most memorable traveling experiences were spending a summer in Tanzania volunteering and studying abroad in Spain for a semester.
