Teaching Experience:
Ishika spent two years in high school tutoring local middle schoolers in math and English. In college, she has mentored friends and peers in science and humanities classes. She also teaches research and data analysis techniques to junior members of the research lab she works in. She is a peer mentor on the UT Austin Speech Team, helping incoming students learn about competitive college speech.
Educational Philosophy:
“Teaching is a matter of breaking down complex topics into digestible pieces of information. It's about taking a concept that seems huge and terrifying and inaccessible and turning it into something that students think is interesting, important, and manageable.”
Interesting Fact:
Ishika loves listening to indie pop music. Some of her favorite bands are AJR, Bastille, and Raynes.
