During his undergraduate studies, Jonathan discovered his passion for teaching while working as an undergraduate TA for Organic Chemistry 1 and Biochemistry 2. In these roles, he collaborated closely with professors and graduate students, contributing to lesson planning and the creation of test questions, and refining his ability to break down complex scientific concepts for students. This experience not only deepened his understanding of the material but also inspired him to support others in their academic journeys.
Educational Philosophy:
"Everyone learns in their own unique way. Finding the strategy that works best for them is something that I as their teacher must always strive to help them learn. Even in the most difficult of classes a good teacher-student team can ensure that the student will be able to not only understand the coursework, but excel."
Interesting Fact:
Jonathan loves backpacking trips. From going on a 30 mile camping trip in Arkansas during the winter to spending 4 weeks in European Hostels with 4 pairs of clothes & a toothbrush, Jonathan is always looking for the next adventure.
