University of Texas at Austin (B.A. in Linguistics and Chinese Languages & Culture)
Teaching Experience:
Macy previously worked as an English Teaching Assistant at an elementary school in Shulin, Taiwan, before transitioning her teaching career to Texas. Over the following years she gained experience in test preparation instruction. She enjoys the opportunity to continue working with and teaching students!
Educational Philosophy:
“My goal is to not merely share with my students the foundational knowledge and skills required to succeed, but also inspire them to continue learning. I believe some of the best knowledge and skills stem from an intrinsic motivation to achieve them. I want students to stay curious and excited about what the world has to offer, and realize that being a student is truly a lifelong endeavor.”
Interesting Fact:
Macy has played the piano since she was five years old, and most strongly enjoys playing songs for her relatives to sing along to at gatherings. Her favorite pieces come from the musicals Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, and Phantom of the Opera!
