Wesleyan University (B.A. in Physics and Science & Technology Studies)
Teaching Experience:
Meera served as a Course Assistant for both the Physics and Dance Departments at Wesleyan University for four years. She helped physics students understand difficult problem questions, focusing on each student’s individual needs in both introductory and advanced courses. She was also a mentor for the Women in Science initiative, where she supported women through their coursework and provided them with strategies for succeeding in college. In addition, Meera enjoyed working as an aid in the Wesleyan Dance Department, where she assisted professors with choreography, class organization, and answering student questions!
Educational Philosophy:
"It is important that students develop the ability to look at problems in multiple ways. Mental flexibility is a foundational skill in furthering one's education. I believe that fostering that skill by encouraging students to take different approaches or use different methods is essential to their success. That is the key to ensuring students have the confidence to work through new problems, rather than just recreate solutions to problems they have already encountered."
Interesting Fact:
Meera has danced her whole life, practicing ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles. She hopes to continue with this passion as she goes through medical school.
