Counseling Experience:
Rae worked for B2A as a teacher doing SAT test preparation while she was in graduate school. While working toward her MA in English at the University of North Dakota, she was a tutor who helped first generation college students in the Ronald E. McNair program gain admission to their desired graduate programs.

“I focus on making students the most actualized and competitive versions of themselves by helping them express their most compelling qualities in writing."
Teaching Experience:
Rae taught for nearly a decade at the university level. She spent 6 years, including summers, teaching at UT Austin while pursuing her PhD in English with an emphasis in disability studies. She was also a tutor, archive researcher, and digital writing specialist.
Educational Philosophy:
"I seek to get to know students in order to understand what pedagogical strategies best serve them."
Interesting Fact:
Rae loves gardening and hiking with her husband and two small children. She has a Great Pyrenees dog, 2 cats, 2 bunnies, a cockatiel, and 3 chickens. She fosters animals for her local shelter.
