English/Language Arts Instructor
University of Texas at Austin (B.S.A. Neuroscience and Certificate in Museum Studies)
Tammy has experience teaching and tutoring a diverse background of students, ranging from elementary to college students for over four years. She was a teaching assistant for 3 years at UT Austin, where she taught Biology I and II, Microbiology, and Calculus I. Outside of teaching STEM courses, Tammy also enjoys working with students on ACT/SAT test prep and workshopping essays.
"I firmly believe that the best way to approach a problem is that there is no best way. Having worked with numerous students from different backgrounds, I understand everyone learns differently and each student needs a unique set of strategies tailored to them. Therefore, I believe in teaching students multiple ways to tackle a problem and inviting them to share what techniques work for them in order to perform more efficiently."
Tammy is passionate about neuroscience and enjoys every single opportunity she gets to learn more about our fascinating brain! Following undergrad, Tammy plans to take a gap year to pursue pharmaceutical research in drug development for treating neurodegenerative diseases.
