Education:

The University of Texas at Dallas (B.S. in Psychology)


Teaching Experience:

Zi has worked in a variety of teaching roles and environments. They taught grade k-6 in both general and special education settings for Richardson ISD, and they often gave educational presentations while volunteering at a homeless shelter. Zi also worked as an officer at the Japanese Language Association at UT Dallas, where she regularly taught Japanese language learners as well as ESL students! 


Educational Philosophy:

“A teacher’s existence would come into question if learning were a trivial endeavor. To learn is to struggle, and the teacher’s duty is to support the student through that struggle, to be the guide as they climb the mountain of knowledge, to catch them when they fall, so that they might reach the peak of their potential.”


Interesting Fact:

Zi won a national Japanese speech competition as a senior in high school!
